Collaborating across Europe:
Arda’s secondment at ITQB NOVA
Collaboration is key in the EvaMobs project, bringing together expertise from partners across Europe to build the innovative EvaMobs platform. While much of this teamwork happens remotely – bridging institutes and countries – some knowledge simply travels best in person.
When it comes to sharing hands-on lab techniques to optimise our monobody formulations, face-to-face collaboration is essential. That’s why recently, Arda Deniz Tugrul, PhD candidate at NIBRT (UCD) in Dublin travelled to ITQB NOVA for a six-week secondment, to collaborate on improving the stability of monobodies and preventing aggregation (the joining and clustering together of monobodies). He explains:
“The purpose of my visit to ITQB NOVA was to collaborate on this project by studying monobody stability and exploring protein modifications aimed at reducing this aggregation.”
Looking ahead, Arda is preparing to consolidate the findings from his visit: “My next steps involve summarising the work accomplished during the secondment and continuing with formulation screening studies on monobodies.”
“I am very grateful for the support and collaboration I received from ITQB NOVA during my secondment and look forward to continuing our work together in the future.”
