EvaMobs partner Católica Medical School in the Portuguese media
The great work of our project partner, the Católica Biomedical Research Centre of Católica Medical School, was recently highlighted across major Portuguese media channels for their innovative research on antiviral strategies against influenza and other viruses.
“The antivirals that may be developed could protect unvaccinated people, reduce disease severity, and help control the spread of respiratory and emerging viruses, reinforcing the public health response to future outbreaks,” explains Maria Joao Amorim.
The CBR team, part of the EvaMobs consortium led by ITQB NOVA, is developing effective therapies against multiple respiratory viruses and has already designed mini-proteins capable of blocking SARS-CoV-2 from entering cells, a promising step toward future antivirals.
