Are we prepared for the next pandemic?
EvaMobs researchers Miguel Castanho and Cláudio Soares, along with former Portuguese Minister of Education Tiago Brandão Rodrigues, engaged in a discussion on pandemic preparedness, for the Portuguese public.
This took place on May 5, the anniversary of the end of the international public health emergency caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, as declared by the World Health Organization. The three biochemists with a strong scientific background, each having experienced the pandemic with different responsibilities and perspectives, engaged in a conversation on the topic and discussed lessons learned and the possibility of a new pandemic. Cláudio Soares, the EvaMobs coordinator, highlighted in the interview that “this pandemic taught us that we must learn to learn from these devastating events”.
